To stop paying for a service, check both the subscription and the bank instruction. Cancelling one does not necessarily settle the other.
Cancel a Select Correct subscription
Use Manage subscription in the site menu to open Stripe. Choose the Direct Debit subscription you want to stop and complete its cancellation steps.
You do not need a Select Correct website account. On another device, Stripe can ask you to sign in using the email from checkout. Use the same email you used to set up the payments.
If you have two or three subscriptions, cancel each one you no longer need. Check the status of each and keep its confirmation. The portal manages Select Correct payments only, not subscriptions with other businesses.
Stripe supports different cancellation arrangements, so read the effective date shown before confirming. Our cancellation help explains the site’s route.
Cancel the instruction through your bank
You can also stop an instruction using your bank’s available tools. Tell the collecting company as well so it can deal with the service agreement.
Pay.UK’s cancellation guidance explains that stopping a Direct Debit does not remove money you still owe. For another provider’s service, check its own contract and cancellation terms.
Check payments already processing
A collection can already be underway when you cancel. Pay.UK advises allowing at least a full day and checking your bank’s notice requirements. Halifax warns that a payment due within the next two days may still leave the account.
Do not assume that cancelling a subscription instantly reverses a submitted bank payment. Check the amount, date and status with the provider if you are unsure.
Ask about an incorrect payment
If a Direct Debit is taken in error, contact your bank about the Direct Debit Guarantee. An incorrect amount or date is different from a disagreement about the service you bought. The Guarantee does not cancel the underlying agreement, and a refund received without entitlement must be repaid when requested.
For Select Correct support, email support@selectcorrect.uk. Include the payment date, amount and reference, but do not send bank details or Stripe sign-in links. A refund request is not an automatic refund approval.

The Direct Debit service
Each subscription costs 50p a month until cancelled. Check your bank’s terms before relying on a Direct Debit for a switching reward.
